Can We Ever Go Back? (Unfinished)

“Let me go back down.”

“You are kidding right?”

“No, I am serious.”

“Is this what you wanted to talk to me about?”

“Yes, I’ve been trying to talk to you for a long time.”

“You can’t really be serious?”

“They’ll crucify you. No pun intended, ha, ha,” proud of the joke He had just delivered. Some sense of humor He has, I thought, ha, ha.

“Real funny. I can’t believe you think that’s funny.”

“Sorry, I couldn’t resist.”

I smiled. You had to keep smiling. He had taught me that lesson over and over. If you took things too seriously you were in trouble. He had a special place for comedians, Thought they were some of the brightest people on the planet. And they made us laugh. That was a gift from Him.

(Once again, unfinished. Will get back to…)
